Promotion Criteria

Promotion Criteria

Cadets that wish to advance the ranks of the program, please refer to the following criteria. Please note that higher positions are picked by the instructors with a special criteria.

Promotion to Cadet PV2:

  • C or better in all classes

  • 2.0 GPA minimum

  • Recite the Cadet Creed from memory

  • State the mission of JROTC from memory

  • Identify the key to success in JROTC

Promotion to Cadet PFC:

  • All requirements for promotion to Cadet PV2

  • Know the cadet chain of command

  • Correctly identify JROTC rank

  • Identify each of the Army values

  • Execute basic drill commands:

    • Left / Right Face                 

    • About Face

    • Present Arms

    • Order Arms

    • Column Left /Right          

    • Left / Right Flank

Promotion to Cadet CPL:

  • All requirements for promotion to Cadet PFC

  • Know the chain of command

  • Know the 11 principles of leadership

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to march a squad

  • Identify the correct placement of items on the Class B uniform
